Types of Mounting Systems

On Roof

For solar panels that are mounted above the finished roof.

Roof hooks for tiles

Hookstop for Rosemary type tiles

Corrugated and trapezoidal roofs

In Roof

For solar panels that are integrated into the roof structure.

The system may be installed in portrait format or in landscape format, with a specific mounting plate for each format, on both small installations (less than 3 kWp) and large roofs (several hundred kWp). In roof systems can be installed on wood or metal structures and mounted on battens or lathing. It can also be mounted directly on common rafters and can be installed on slopes between 15° and 50°. The system does not require much maintenance, except for regular cleaning of the solar panels.

Flat Roof

For solar panels that are seated onto a flat roof.

Ground Mount

Most solar farms are ground mounted and are used for large-scale application of solar photovoltaic (PV) panels to generate electricity at scale, usually to feed into the grid. These mounting structures are relatively inexpensive and easy to install. Solar farms can cover anything between 1 acre and 100 acres, and are usually developed in rural areas.

Ground Mounted Tracker

For flat-panel photovoltaic systems, trackers are used to minimize the angle of incidence between the incoming sunlight and a photovoltaic panel. This increases the amount of energy produced from a fixed amount of installed power generating capacity.

Single Axis

A single axis tracker follows the sun on a vertical plane.

Dual Axis

A dual axis tracker follows the sun both vertically and horizontally across the sky. These types of solar trackers increase energy generation between 30-40%.
